What makes a dad great? Well first of all he has to love his family. A great dad is also hard working, self sacrificing and a good provider for his family. My dad is, no doubt, a great dad. No man loves his family more than my father. There are possibly men that love their family as much as my father loves his, but nobody loves their family more. He works hard everyday not only at his job but also around our house and when he leads our family. Most importantly is the way he leads our family. He is always guiding us through our struggles and problems and holding us together through conflict. Our family, like every other family, has it’s problems, and as the head our house, my father is a great leader and roesolver of our issues. My dad has sacrificed so much for our family. He has given up opportunities for advancement in his career for our families sake because they would mean less time for his family. He has always put the needs of the family before his own. I know a lot of dads who spend more time golfing than with their family. My dad has denied himself many hobbies and interest for our sake. Because of his self sacrifice I have always gotten what I needed and much more. I am so blessed and have lived an extremely comfortable life because of my father. However, there is one aspect of a good father that is in some respects more important than any of these and it is this which I think my father is better at than anyone else in the world. It is his ability to change. No man has ever been the perfect father. And my dad has not been perfect. It is not only his willingness to become a better father everyday but also his strong desire. He is always open to correction and never too prideful to admit his shortcomings or give a sincere apology. The man that saw me come into this world is so much different than the one I know today. It is my father’s ability and desire to become a better man and father which makes him, wothout a doubt, father of the year.
