I believe that my father deserves the Father of the Year award for many reasons, too many to list. First and foremost he is the reason why we have our mom here today. Over a decade ago, my mother became very ill, spending years in hospitals, and eventually became totally disabled. My father, stuck by her side every step of the way, reading, researching, and doing evrything in his power to make sure his kids had a mother. My siblings and I are so grateful to him for this. He still takes care of her full time, all while loving his four kids and three grandchildren. He has shown us love, understanding, and compassion, and allowed us to bounce back from our mistakes because they "keep us modest," is what he tells us. We have learned from him to be open minded about all and everything. He sort of marches to the beat of his own drum, and that reflects in his me and my siblings. He has also tought us to be free thinkers and be able to think outside of the box. I cannot simply put in to words what many gifts my father has given us, but so wish I could. He has given us life, a mother to love and her to love us, and the ablility to look at life without restrictions. I know there are many wonderful fathers out there who deserve recognition, but I definitely believe and every who meets him believes that he is among them.

CeliaB Awesome story, definitely have my vote. Forget everyone else that seems to have nothing better to do than to sit here and leave rude comments on something kids did for their father. GOOD LUCK!

Marilyn4Dr all these votes and only 31 comments hmmm?????
Mon, Jun 14 2010 11:50 PM
mastal20 Well the Sentinel set up rules sooo you need not worry. Also - perhaps you should count again. We didn't get 1000 in 24 hours. We also posted on multiple site and shared with friends all week and mostly all day today. You should consider posting on a few other fathers while you are at aimee as I see multiple dads shooting for the stars tonight!!! Good luck dads!

mastal20 Hi Marilyn - The rules actually do not say we can't link with a forum. In fact you can link through this site to multiple social sites. If you are from a forum then thanks for reading the story. Perhaps you want to vote for us or another deserving father and encourage friends - there is 40 mins left!

georgie All you have to do is read the comments from his children to know what kind of a person my brother Bob is!!! He more than deserves to win this! He not only has taken care of his wife and children through some pretty rough years, but also took care of his aging disabled mother for 3 years!!!! He more than gets my vote!!! I will always admire and respect him!

Lee People have put rude comments on our site also, this is supposed to be a positive thing. I guess some people just never grow up!
Mon, Jun 14 2010 5:16 PM
hardtrailz Well done on keeping your family priority one. Good Luck!

Smitty898 Look, any outsider who has been voting from day one could look at the evidence at hand and certainly raise an eyebrow. In order to preserve your gift to this contestant, I have since deleted my previous comments. However, do not blame me for ruining the contest. I merely had an opinion. The last time I checked, you are allowed to have them and the First Amendment allows you to express them.

copterbria The best times of my life were spent with the Armstrongs. Bob is a great guy who not only deserves the father of the year but also the father of the decade award! You have been a great husband and raised three truly wonderful children...you have made a positive impression to the countless lives you have touched! My hat's off to you sir...

brandym This was suppose to be a nice contest about the great father's. SOME people are turning this into something not very nice...Robert is a GREAT guy and just because he has alot of people that truley believe that and want him to win this....dont be jealous, and keep your nasty comments to yourself!!!! Shesh lets just ruin the point of the contest why dont we!!!!
Mon, Jun 14 2010 12:51 PM
justinbieb kinda rude... but i think he deserves these votes. hes a GREAT grampy.

clover12 First of all Smitty and Flireplace - we plan to give this to our father with the comments included as he is unaware we are doing this and your comments are out of place and actually a little rude. You basically just accused us of cheating. I see two other men out here in the running as outstanding fathers as well with just as many votes and when we starting the voting on our father those men had only 100 votes or less. We were never far behind and as you know word spreads and more people are told everyday and the votes go up. All the fathers are deserving and I find it appalling and disturbing that you are posting these things under our comments. I have a feeling you are related to or have nominated one of the fathers in the running and are a little upset that we are keeping up very well with you. Please refrain from further comments such as these and keep your opinions to yourselves so our father doesn't have to read your nonsense when we print this and give it to him whether he wins or loses! We love you dad!!!
